SENSORY WEEK!

 The children were stimulated with all of their senses this week! Mother Goose visited and entertained with her silly songs and puppets, then they got to enjoy squishy icky mud day! After that they got to play with various scented items and even made edible playdough! This was the best week ever and we can't believe tomorrow is the Pre-K 2 graduation and prom! Benefits of Physical Development in Early Childhood

Physical activities helps in the development of better motor skills and in concentration and thinking skills. The children at AoHV absolutely love playing inside and outside! We promote the gold sneaker initiative and we're so happy they're active and healthy.

Pie Contest!

What's more American than a pie contest?! Yesterday the hard working staff of AoHV got to sample several delicious pie options that our families hand made and brought in! There were four awesome submissions: Chocolate Pie, Strawberry Jell-O cheesecake, Farmer's market Tomato Pie, and a Chocolate Cherry & Whipped Cream Pie! Check out these pictures! WOW! You're not going to believe it but it was actually a 4 way tie! Out of 28 educators, 7 voted for each one!! It was an extremely tough decision but we finally picked a winner!  We have had so much fun this week decorating flags, painting fireworks, learning about America, having parades, and talking about our great nation! The children have learned so much and are so excited about their weekend plans! Be safe visiting friends and family, swimming, and participating in firework shows. Kindergarten Boot Camp in Full Swing!

 Our children are navigating Kindergarten Boot Camp with ease! We're so proud of their accomplishments so far with writing their letters, staying in routine, having structure for morning meetings, and learning about cafeteria etiquette. The children voice their favorite moments including helping each other and exceeding expectations for Developmentally Appropriate Practices for their age. When they leave our school they are ready to take on the new challenges of elementary school with confidence. We can't believe in less than a month they will graduate!
