Geodes!

The science week fun continued as we learned about geodes! A geode is a hollow rock that contains a crystal formation! Our TASK class got creative and created geodes using egg shells, salt, food coloring, water, and baking soda! They had a blast learning how these amazing crystals are formed!

Volcano!

This week is all about science at the Academy of Harpeth Village! We kicked off science week by making a baking soda volcano! The children loved using their critical thinking skills and the scientific method to create a class volcano! They loved learning all about how baking soda and vinegar make a chemical reaction! It was amazing being able to watch the children's reactions to the volcano eruption! We can't wait to learn more about science! 

Math Week!

It's math week at the Academy of Harpeth Village! This week the children had a blast learning all about math, and how it applies to the world around them! The children learned about counting, one-to-one correspondence, addition, subtraction, and so much more! The parents also participated in a (pi)e day competition! What fun!

The Sound of Music!

The Academy of Harpeth Village is alive with the sound of music! This week, we are learning all about music! The children had a blast learning all about different types of music and musical instruments! The children also enjoyed learning the science behind music production! We loved learning all about music!

U.S.A!

Today, at the Academy of Harpeth Village, we celebrated the Fourth of July! Everyone came dressed in their star spangled attire to celebrate the adoption of this nation's Declaration of Independence! The children enjoyed learning about the history of the United States of America, as well as, creating Fourth of July inspired art! Have a happy and safe Fourth of July! 

Ready For Veggies/Herbs From Our Garden!

Our garden is growing so fast! We have so much fun watching our garden and tasting all the wonderful veggies and herbs. The children where totally amazed by the yellow flowers that will turn into tomatoes and the white flowers that turned into green beans. They got to pick them straight from the vine. What an awesome experience!

Sensory Week!

Sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore. Children use their senses everyday to explore the world around them. We love to create different sensory activities that stimulate all of their senses.
