Provocations!

What is a literary provocation? A literary provocation is an open ended activity designed to provoke thought and further connect children to literature and different learning materials! Literary provocations support the unfolding of ideas and theories as well as increasing their exploration of the outside world! This summer, the children have a chance to engage in literary provocations! They are loving participating in all the fun activities that are helping them learn and grow! 

Kindergarten Boot Camp!

The confidence to start kindergarten begins in a Pre K classroom! This week, we began our kindergarten boot camp! Throughout the course of Kindergarten Boot Camp our cadets will gain all the appropriate skills to conquer kindergarten! Our cadets will learn skills, such as, opening a milk carton, proper pencil grip, how to walk in a line, library and cafeteria etiquette,  kindergarten math, and so much more! We cannot wait to see how our cadets grow and learn during boot camp!

Spring Conference 2018!

Teachers must embrace and learn to use play as a valuable tool for children's learning.The critical role of the teacher during play must include facilitation, engagement, and appropriate individualization for each child's developmental level. Planning for play must be intentional. Teachers must focus on creating opportunities for higher level thinking by incorporating time, space, and materials for play. Our inservice was a fun day of learning and playing at The Adventure Science Center. We learned  how to maximize the benefit of play by being hands on and learning by doing! What a great day to be with our school family!

Red Nose Day!

What is Red Nose Day? Red Nose Day is a day that we can all come together to help those that need it most! Red Nose Day is a fundraiser by the non-profit organization, Comic Relief Inc! The goal of this day is to have fun and bring smiles to people's faces while helping those in need! Since its inception in the United Kingdom in 1988, Red Nose Day has raised over 1 billion dollars that has benefitted programs for children and young people across the United States and 34 other countries! We loved wearing our red noses and supporting a wonderful cause!
