Bruce Amato visits for a Magic Show!

The kids always enjoy when Mr. Bruce Amato comes to visit our center! He is very funny and makes the best illusions come to life. The kids laugh so much and his tricks are amazing to them! The joy and wonder concerning magic is a childhood gift that we can all appreciate throughout the years. Thanks so much for lighting up our life Mr. Bruce!

Labrador Hollow Comes To Visit!

Today we had some special guests from Labrador Hollow visit our school to talk about a great program called "Live, Love and Learn". The program is based on the core concepts of positive learning about how to live responsibly in our communities. The stories inspire the children to treat others respectfully, and to follow their heart to become truthful, kind, loyal, committed, confident and passionate individuals. The stories from Labrador Hollow also remind children that we all make mistakes that we learn from and if we fall down, we be brave and get right back up!

Enrichment Time!

Today was music and movement enrichment class at AOHV and it was wonderful! The sounds of laughter filled the halls as the kids held a parachute and bounced an Earth ball on top of it. They enjoyed bubbles and learned how to take turns running under the parachute. This kind of activity is perfect for all ages as it teaches them to learn through physical, visual, and auditory experiences as well as creating a colorful and positive memory that will last a lifetime. Great job listening to the instructions today kids!

Friday Celebration For Hard Work!

What a nice way to celebrate our teacher's hard work but to have Anne schedule the Kestner Chiropractic group come in and give all the teachers free back and neck massages! The staff of AOHV really appreciated the opportunity to relax with soothing music and eat fresh fruit, cheese, hummus and crackers.

Fun Easter Week!

We were so glad to have nice weather last week for our Easter egg hunt. The kids worked very hard on their cute Easter egg baskets by using recycled cans, grocery bags & decorating paper sacks. The TASK kids enjoyed helping hide eggs for the little ones. The school is getting ready for April by preparing to "green our scene". The school-agers did their monthly community service project by cleaning up the playgrounds before and after the egg hunt! We also had a special guest visit by the Easter Bunny! We hope everyone enjoyed the nice long weekend.

 

 

A big week at AOHV!

We have had such a great week here at AOHV! We started our fun week with the scholastic book fair which is always a big hit with the kids, then we had our yearly evaluation for STARS. All of the rooms look so nice, we wanted them all to get picked! Great job to the teachers who were assessed, you've been working so hard and it shows! We enjoyed seeing everyone wear green today for St. Patrick's day, and the artwork is just adorable! We love the wonderful things we're teaching here and the great memories that are being made!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Our center has really enjoyed making art and decorations for our Dr. Seuss themed week. It's so cute to see all the little blue & red hand fish art and how devoted and talented our students and teachers are! Books are so important for our children's development and hearing them laugh at Dr. Seuss's riddles and rhymes is priceless!
