Today the Nashville Fire Department came to visit our school. The children and all the educators were so excited!!! The children got to explore and learn all about the fire trucks. Then after learning all about the trucks, we all went into our enrichment room to learn about fire safety. The children learned how to stop, drop, and roll. The firefighters did a great job demonstrating and educating our littles on tips for fire safety.
Some of the basic fire safety rules for kids are:
Don't play with matches and lighters
Remind your parents to test fire alarms monthly
If there is a fire: don't hide, go outside!
If your clothes are on fire stop, drop, and roll until the fire goes out
Have an escape plan and practice it with your family
Fall and crawl to escape a fire
