Thanksgiving week!

We're so excited to see the little turkey handprints, friendship bracelets, Native American Necklaces, and had a special visit from our favorite magician Mr. Bruce! We're so glad we get to teach the children about friendship, sharing, planting vegetables, and celebrating Native American heritage. Check out these sweet pictures of all the fun activities!

Honoring our Veterans!

This month we honor Native American Heritage Month, Veteran’s Day, and Thanksgiving. We are so grateful to live in a nation where bravery, heritage and freedom are valued.

To those who've served, we would like to say, "Thank you for your service!"

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow we honor you and recognize that our children grow up in a safe country, because of you. Here are some phrases we're teaching the children to say when they see a hero in uniform!

I appreciate you!

I am so grateful for having you in my life.

Thanks for the support.

Thanks for all you do.

Thank you always for being there.

I appreciate your sacrifice so much.

I'm thankful to you.

I wanted to thank you for your help.

This week the children are making cards, posters, letters, and flags to commemorate the end of WW1 in 1918. Thank you truly for your service.

Celebrating Native American Heritage Month

We are proud to promote cultural diversity within our school throughout the year. We educate our youth through the use of the Frogstreet curriculum, Pre-Scholar Enrichment classes, culturally aware dolls, toys, books and centers. This month our focus is celebrating Native American Heritage Month. We have researched activities to celebrate, educate, commemorate, and illustrate Native American achievements, artifacts, artwork, music, beadwork, dwellings, sacred rituals, animals, nature, and language.

We understand the importance of bringing awareness, honor, and respect to all cultures we discuss with our children and we're thankful to be a crucial part of teaching early childhood education with positive and informative intentions. They loved painting with corn cobs this week, having music and movement class using feathers, learning about sacred and special hats, exploring fall sensory bins with corn, and learning about sharing, being caring and thankful. We can't wait to honor veterans in the community and promoting friendships next week. We hope you all have a wonderful month filled with love, gratefulness and Fall's beautiful bounty. Otsaliheliga!
