Springtime Activities!

 We LOVE this beautiful weather! Our children are having so much fun learning about the season change, plants and trees growing, weather patterns, bugs and dirt, and we even had a visit from our favorite magician Mr. Bruce Amato! He can make butterflies appear and flowers grow before our eyes! Our favorite portrait people, Spoiled Rotten Photography are here this week taking spring portraits and the background is amazing! We have so many awesome activities planned this week and we can't wait until Thursday when the Bunny comes to hide our eggs! Stay tuned for more fun pictures of our incredible school family!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

 The children had a great week full of fun adventures with green noodles, making beautiful shamrock art, a visit from Mother Goose, a special Leprechaun snack and a cool story time with Ms. Marie and the Nashville Public Library! We had so much fun this week, we can't wait until you check out what all we're doing next week!

Wacky, Fun, & Silly!

 Our children had so much fun with pajama day, wear a hat or stylish hair, and dressing up wacky last week! We love school spirit and celebrating great influences in children's education with literature such as Dr. Seuss, Sesame Street, Eric Carle,  Mercer Mayer and many more! They love being funny, expressing themselves in creative ways, and comparing different styles. We hope you enjoy these fun pictures of our little cuties! Have a great week.

Tornado Drill Safety!

 At Aohv we teach the children many important academic lessons through the use of our Frogstreet curriculum but just as important as the lessons, we need to ensure the children and educators know what to do any emergency situation. We require CPR, Heimlich & First Aid training for our educators. In addition we conduct fire drills, intruder drills, and tornado drills. Last week, we had a statewide tornado drill and the children and teachers did wonderful! We followed the plan we developed, everyone knew where to go. The children were calm, orderly and timely! With Spring quickly approaching, you can never be too cautious of Tennessee weather! Make sure your family knows where the "safe place" is to gather together in your home. Have a great day!

Today we highlight an amazing children's author, Theodor Seuss "Ted" Geisel or Dr. Seuss! He was an American children's author, political cartoonist, illustrator, poet, animator, and filmmaker. He is known for his work writing and illustrating more than 60 books under the pen name Dr. Seuss. On his birthday today we say thank you Mr. Seuss for all your wacky, zaney, and colorful stories!
