Ooey Gooey Week!!!

This week we had sensory overload with Ooey Gooey week.  The children got to enjoy activites that focused on their five senses. We did shaving cream art, made slime out of three simple ingredients where the children could taste it, made and played with colored spaghetti, water day, and so much more!

How does sensory help development?

Children use their senses to explore and try to make sense of the world around them. They do this by touching, tasting, smelling, seeing, moving and hearing. Sensory play helps language development, cognitive growth, fine motor skills and gross motor skills, problem solving and social interactions.

Petting Zoo!!!

Today here @ AOHV we were all in for a big treat. We had a Petting Zoo come visit our school. Who Does That???? The Academy does! The children and teachers got to hold and pet all different types of farm animals. Everyone's favorite was the baby piglets that were only 8 weeks old.  The excitement was loud and the giggles were contagious. We all can't wait for the animals to visit our school again.
