Johnny Appleseed Week!

Here at AOHV, we loved learning all about "Johnny Appleseed and Apples"! This week we enjoyed playing hats ,having parades, stamping with apples, cooking with apples, and making and playing with apple cinnamon play dough.  The children got to use all five senses when exploring with apples. They got to see, hear, touch, taste, and smell.  The play-dough was everyone's favorite this week and they even got to take some home to add more fun. Some fun facts we all learned about Johnny Chapman (Appleseed). 

*Planting apples or pear trees were a way to claim their land with the government

* The settlers would sell seedlings to people of the wilds of Ohio and Indiana

Fall is for Football and Family

 

Here at AOHV, we love football and our school family. Everyone had a blast dressing up in their favorite football attire. Every room had fun with it. We are stoked about fall and our school family festivities. Here are some highlights from Friday.

 

 

 

 

 

Parent's Dip Contest!

Here at AOHV, we strive for Parent Engagement. This week our parents had the opportunity to enter in a dip contest. The family who won got half off a weeks tuition for one child. Our parents did a fabulous job. We had everything from sweet to spicey. Every dip was unique in its own way. The dips were on a number system and our educators were the judges. The winner knocked it out of the park with the most votes by far! The winner was a friend in our Pre-K 1 room. Congratulations to James Durden's family. Back to School

 Here at The Academy of Harpeth Village, "We are Going Back to School".  This past week we kicked off our Frog Street curriculum, everyone was excited to get started. Frog Street starts from Birth and goes to 60 months. Frog Street covers every learning domain for early childhood standards. The domains include Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Cognitive Development, Language Development, Mathematics and Science. This curriculum also includes the famous, "Baby Doll Circle Time" that all the littles love. Here at AOHV, we are so excited to see what the curriculum holds for us this year.
