Fun With Puppets!

Our Frog Street curriculum comes with puppet companions for each age group. Each class has a Lily, Max, Fernando, or Fanny! The puppets help guide the children through the lessons, while providing a companion for playtime! The children love learning alongside their puppet friends! 

Fall Is For Football!

Today was football dress up day at the Academy of Harpeth Village! The teachers and students had a blast dressing up! No matter what team you root for, it is always great to celebrate a cultural pastime!

Safety First!

It is so important to teach children proper safety rules! Our Toddler 2 class practiced how to safely cross the street! They learned that it is very important to hold a grown ups hand while crossing the street. They also learned to look both ways before crossing the street! 

Friendship!

Friendship has a major impact on a child's ability to develop age appropriate social skills, learn proper conversational skills, and be sensitive to a variety of viewpoints! Building strong friendships in early childhood can help improve a child's mental health overall! At the Academy of Harpeth Village, we work hard to help children establish strong friendships! The children love growing, learning, and playing with friends! 

Hot Wheel Time!

Children use problem solving techniques to jump ramps, ride slow, drive fast, and even jump them through the air. Children will also create different ways to jump the ramps by moving them closer or further apart. "Pass me the track piece!" "We should move that over here!" "Hey, what if we tried this trick?!" We have heard it all while children are working together as a team to create common goals and skills by working together. Children can use their imagination and create a masterpiece by giving them a few objects and letting their little brains develop their own creation. 

Did you know children are using math and science while playing with hot wheels? It helps children use cars, tracks, and everyday items to learn concepts like mass, slopes, and kinetic energy. Talk about motivating a child!!
