Learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

At the Academy of Harpeth Village the children took time last week to learn about the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.! It was so wonderful to see the children learn about justice and equality! We're proud to be in an evolving nation where equality is valued. Great job to our educators for teaching and loving our children everyday!

"Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education."

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

Friends Are Wonderful To Have!

Making friends is a vital part of growing up and an essential part of children's social and emotional development. Attributes such as social competence, altruism, self-esteem, and self-confidence have all been found to be positively correlated to having friends. Studies have found that friendships enable children to learn more about themselves and develop their own identity.  As children mature, friends are able to help reduce stress and have a positive impact on life.
Friends are great to have at any age!
