Happy Thanksgiving!

In TASK we had a great week! We talked about what we were all thankful for.  Most children said that they were thankful for their families, homes, cars, pets, friends, school, and food.  We made art for the nursing home next door last Tuesday! On Wednesday there was no school at Harpeth Valley Elementary School, so we decided to have a pajama day and watch a movie! We did more Thanksgiving art for our families and played with our friends. We made forts and built with Legos. It was so much fun! We hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Let's Be Thankful!

What are you thankful for? At The Academy of Harpeth Village we are so thankful for our wonderful school community and the ability watch our students grow, learn, and play everyday! Throughout the month of November all of our classes have been learning about all the ways they can express thanks on a daily basis. The students loved learning about different Thanksgiving traditions, and how they help us build community. We also learned how we can build community by collecting canned goods for those in need. We had so much fun gathering as a school community for our annual Thanksgiving lunch. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Nashville Library Is Here To Visit!

Learning through play is a vital aspect of childhood, and your child should be encouraged to do so every day. Puppets are a great way to promote a wide range of development. By offering puppets to children it does wonders for his/her language, social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We always have a great day when the Nashville Library comes for a marionette play! Books are such an important part of learning and it's so exciting to see it acted out!  Todays show was Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.  What a wonder show it was.
