Hug, Handshake, High Five, or Fist Bump!

What would our days be like if they all started with a friendly hug, hand shake, high five, or fist bump? Our preschool 4 class has the answer to that question! Every morning they greet one another with a hug, handshake, high five, or fist bump! This has helped the children connect in a positive and fun way! Starting the day off this way has also helped the children learn about the importance of consent when greeting and coming into contact with others! Positive greetings have helped the children learn, play, and grow in a positive and friendly environment! How would you like to start your day?

Keeping Kids Safe!

Keeping Kids Safe is a Tennessee child safety curriculum with the goal of enhancing communication between parents and children about personal safety. The curriculum covers everything from car safety to personal safety. To top off our Keeping Kids Safe Curriculum, we had a police officer come talk to the children about safety. The children and teachers learned a lot about how to stay safe in a variety of situations!

Music Class!

Incorporating music and movement in the classroom has a plethora of benefits! When music and movement are introduced to children of all ages they develop better spatial intelligence, pattern recognition, memorization skills, overall coordination, emotional development, self-confidence, and so much more! Our preschool 4 class had a chance to listen and move to some of their favorite music during a class concert! Their teacher brought in a guitar and they had a blast singing, dancing, and learning!

Rock the Vote!

At the Academy of Harpeth Village, we were so excited to make our voices heard and vote! The children had a blast learning about why voting is so important! The children had so much fun pretending to vote as well! Make sure you go vote and make your voice heard!
Here are some election fun facts:
1. Weather and farming used to dictate when election day was
2. In 1856, congress dropped the property ownership requirement for voting
3. The United States is ranked 139th out of 172 countries in voter participation
4. Universal suffrage was not officially granted until the 1970s in the United States
