This week our AOHV kiddos had such a fun time exploring the many parts of a pumpkin and also learning about “Día de los Muertos” or Day of the Dead! The children were able to create their own sugar skulls and talk about this Hispanic holiday! Here at AOHV we love fostering fun learning environments for each and every child!
This week here at AOHV we had an absolute blast with all the spooky crafts and sensory play! This week our kiddos made marshmallow ghosts, q-tip skeletons, spooky shape painting, halloween themed crafts, and skeleton play-dough fun! When doing these crafts we are encouraging the children to use their fine motor skills and promoting problem solving techniques! These fun Halloween themed crafts help build a fun foundation for learning that will promote positive learning outcomes for each child!
We've had a colorful comfy week here at AOHV! From sporting our favorite team colors and jerseys to rocking our pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. October is finally here and our school is ready for the Halloween season. We ended the week in our spooky pajamas!
This week AOHV really got into the fall festivities! We made pumpkin pie slime and used all our senses, especially taste!! We made all types of fall art from fingerprint trees to leaf panting! Our kiddos absolutely loved exploring the different types of activities and learning about the season fall!
This week it was all about "Johnny Appleseed"! We discussed all about Johnny Appleseed and learned, " Johnny Appleseed, whose real name was John Chapman. He was known for establishing apple nurseries and planting apple orchards throughout the American frontier. This week our kiddos did; apple stamping, where we talked about the parts of the apple and made our own apple stamps. Homemade apple pie playdough where we used our 5 senses while playing and exploring it. The children had so much fun this week learning and exploring Johnny Appleseed's life!
This week we had our Frog Street open house. This open house gave our existing families as well as our new families the opportunity to learn about our
curriculum and Conscious Discipline.
