Sunglasses are very important for children because they help protect their eyes while out in the sun. Did you know that children receive more sunlight than adults? The increased exposure increases the risk of eye damage from UV light. Children's eyes are still maturing and cannot filter the UV rays like adult eyes can. After all the children LOVE showing off their cool shades.
This past Friday we had our annual spring picnic. Our families enjoyed a delicious lunch out on the playground yards. Everyone enjoyed having lunch with their parents/ grandparents. It was a very special time for all.
Here @ The Academy we love to do art with the children. It is so fun to sit and watch children draw and create. When children are doodling quietly or talking with their friends that they are learning more then just drawing a house or their favorite place. The process of creating art has the myriad benefits. It helps children develop their attention span and is laying the foundation to important life skills.

Outside play is the best support for children's emotional needs, social, physical developments, problem solving, and ways to acquire communicating and language skills.
