Fall is For Family & 500th Blog!

 Today we kicked off our Fall Frogstreet Curriculum, Fall is for Family! Each class discussed what it means to be a part of a family, and they got to discuss what families do together. It was so cute hearing what all fun things the children did together with their families over the long break! Some classes even talked about things families do to keep safe, like staying together in a group, asking a policeman for help, making classroom commitment choices, and listening to and respecting each other throughout the day. Wrapping up Summertime

 Every week seems like it couldn't get any better... but it always does! This summer has by far been the most fun, engaging, entertaining, exciting, visually stimulating, and memorable for everyone! The children have been challenged academically and amazed with Summer of STEM activities. They have enjoyed all of the fun curricular calendar events and the pictures really show it! Next month we start our Fall theme, "Fall is for Family" and we can't wait to show off our fall vibes! We're so proud to have you in our AoHV school family! Have a wonderful weekend!

Special Guest Month!

 What an awesome few weeks it's been! We've had so many special guests for imagination week! Mr. Bruce the magician was here, Ms. Marie the librarian, Mr. Brent the marionette performer, and today Mr. Bond the Science Guy! What an awesome time for entertainment and learning! We extend a special thank you to all of our special guests for making the end of the summer so cool!

Kid Super Heroes!

 Our "Just Imagine" week is going fantastic! Our favorite magician Mr. Bruce Amato visited on Monday, then we had a super fun super hero dress up day! Today the Nashville Public Library will come and perform a marionette play and tomorrow is water day! This week has been so much fun and we can't wait to show you more pictures on Friday! It's just incredible seeing these children use their imaginations and we love to create so many fun experiences for them!

Helping Hands

 Part of our classroom expectations includes using conscious discipline. There is a lot involved with this way of teaching including, using daily commitments instead of classroom rules. Studies have shown children learn better by being taught using positive reinforcement versus negative. Having compliments versus punishments. At AoHV one of the daily commitments is "Helping Hands". You can see in these portraits the effects this training has in early childhood education! We're so proud of our sweeties! We truly are raising the next generation of kind hearted community helpers! Smoothe, efficient, and effective transitions!

 We have had an amazing transition week!! Transitions that are executed smoothly are actually fun, effective, and developmentally appropriate.  Our educators set clear expectations, routines, and directions for all so it'll be less stressful for both parents and students. The children absolutely LOVE their new classes!!
