Imagination Station Week

We have had such a fun and creative week with imagination station at AoHV. On Monday the children explored their senses through artistic development using ice art. We played visually stimulating classical music while they blended paint with their hands and frozen paint sticks. On Tuesday, we had our friend Mr. Ken come to put on a ventriliquist show. He had a great story about the children using their imaginations, they laughed so much! We had the kids and teachers dress up as what they want to be when they grow up! We had doctors, teachers, artists, princess, pirates and more! The academy schools strive for mental, social, & physical growth, academic achievement, and play using all their senses and most importantly expressing their young imaginations!

Cooking up some summer fun!

We have had such a fun week with our cooking theme! The toddlers used their fine motor skills to make sprinkles artwork, the Preschoolers enjoyed decorating muffins, making chef hats, whipping butter and mashing potatoes! The TASK kids made cookies and spread on the icing! On Wednesday, we hosted a pancake making breakfast bar with chocolate chips, blueberries, bacon and the rest of the works! It was delicious and the kids loved seeing it cook right in front of them! Thursday, we had a superior dip tasting contest that 18 of our parents participated in. It was such a hard decision, and we had several close runners up! Congratulations the Marchak family for the win! We rounded out our delicious week with a visit from the  Kona Ice Truck! Now thats what I call a great week at AoHV!

Decades Week

We have had so much fun with decades week at AoHV. On Monday we had a photo booth and the kids got to pick out fun things to wear from certain decades. On Tuesday we had a disco music train with disco lights and speakers that visited each class. The kids got to learn about music from various artists and decades such as Elvis, The Jackson 5, Dolly Parton, Prince, and Taylor Swift. The kids got to listen to fast and slow songs and learn dance moves from those eras. On Wednesday everybody got to dress up in their favorite deco attire, our students and teachers looked amazing! It is so important that these kids learn how their world has been evolving in so many ways so they know where their ancestors and culture came from. As we look back at the "Good Ole Days" we can appreciate the funny outfits, big hair, wild make-up and the overall decor of the past 70 years.

Circus Week

We're starting a great circus week so far at AoHV. The school agers are back to school, the classes have all transitioned and we're celebrating having a couple more weeks of summer. Yesterday we had circus popcorn and talked about lions, elephants and monkeys. Today we had Mr. Tripp our juggling friend come visit us! He had lots of tricks and funny props to show the kids. He even brought up a volunteer to help with the magic. Although daily we present a structured curriculum it is wonderful to see these kids laugh and take a break from learning, to just have fun and be entertained! We are so blessed to have such a great network of entertainment providers in our wonderful community.
